What we look at · Peptide Therapy, Practitioner-Supervised
Peptides are everywhere right now. Whether they are right for you is a different question.
You have probably seen peptides promoted online, on podcasts, and in your feed, often with big promises and a checkout button. What you rarely see is a licensed clinician asking whether they fit your situation at all. We start there. When peptide therapy is appropriate, it is one tool inside a larger plan, used under supervision. It is never a first move and never a shortcut.
Why supervision is the whole point
Peptides are short chains of amino acids the body uses to send signals. In a clinical setting, certain peptides may be considered as one part of a supervised plan.
They are also widely sold online with little oversight and a lot of hype. Quality, sourcing, dosing, and whether a given peptide suits you at all vary enormously, and the online market does not answer those questions. Under a licensed clinician, peptide therapy is considered only after your fuller picture is understood, only when it fits the plan, and only with informed consent. That is a different experience from buying something off a website and hoping.
How we approach peptide therapy
We treat peptides as a possible part of a plan, not the plan itself.
- It is never the starting point. The free Health Review and a fuller look come first.
- It is only considered when it fits your situation and your goals.
- It is always practitioner-supervised, with informed consent, for patients in Pennsylvania.
- It sits alongside the foundations, food, sleep, movement, and stress, not in place of them.
If peptide therapy is not a fit, we will tell you. That honesty is the point.
What people often ask about
People usually come to this topic curious about one of a few things:
- Whether what they saw online is legitimate or safe
- Whether peptides could fit alongside what they are already doing
- Whether there is a supervised, responsible way to explore them
- Whether they are even a candidate in the first place
The honest answer to all of these starts with a conversation, not a product.
It starts with a conversation, not a sales pitch

If it is a fit, we look at your history, your symptoms, and your labs together, to understand the whole picture first.
A plan, sequenced
Foundations first, with any supervised support considered only where it is appropriate, never all at once.
“The answer is usually in the chart. Someone has to sit with it long enough to see it.”
Karla M. Graf is a board-certified nurse practitioner (CRNP) and a Functional Medicine Academy Certified Practitioner (FMACP). She is the clinical lead at Virtually New You, a virtual functional medicine practice, and sees adults across Pennsylvania by telehealth, from our base in Beaver. Any supervised therapy is provided under her clinical oversight.
Are peptides FDA-approved?
It depends on the specific peptide. Some are approved for defined uses, and many marketed online are not. This is exactly why supervision matters. Whether any peptide is appropriate for you is a clinical decision, not something to settle from a website.
Do you sell peptides?
No. We are a functional medicine practice. If peptide therapy is ever appropriate, it is part of a supervised clinical plan with informed consent, for patients in Pennsylvania. It is not a product you check out and buy.
Is peptide therapy right for me?
We cannot answer that from a web page, and anyone who promises an answer without knowing you should give you pause. The honest first step is the free Health Review, where we look at whether it fits at all.
Is this available outside Pennsylvania?
Clinical services are limited to adults physically located in Pennsylvania at the time of care.
